I've ordered the battery before through Amazon but with another seller and it was unfortunately a third party battery.I would give this 5 stars if APC included a return label for the old battery inside the packaging.

FWIW, the other bummer is there is no return shipping box/label for recycling the old battery. While, yes, I can take the battery to a local depot and get it recycled, it would be far easier (like with toner cartridges) just to pop the old battery in the box and send it back to APC to handle it.

Also, the newer APC UPS units do not reliably operate on standby generator power - they have no provision to operate with less than perfect frequency power.

Shame on APC. I also just discovered that the battery is NOT as described by Amazon.com, because it does NOT come with the prepaid label to return the old battery to APC. Another reason not to spend the extra money on the "exact replacement" APC battery. Amazon.com should correct their misleading description of this product.

APC apparently wants you to buy the RBC100 (at $40 instead of $25 for the RBC2) but I looked up the Amp-Hours and dimensions. It's basically the same battery! I ordered the RBC2. It came with APC labels all over the place. I peeled the label off and it was some other company who made it.
